Compression refers to the number of pounds needed to compress the foam by 25% and still have it bounce back to its original thickness. For example, a 4" thick foam requiring 33 lbs. to compress it by 1" and return to 4" has a 33 lb. Compression rating or ILD. Our foam is sold per sheet, not per yard, and should not be opened with a box cutter. A ball point pen or pencil should be used to start an incision for better handling.
